Students at the Eastern Suburbs Community College are encouraged to discuss matters related to their course with the tutor.
Where personal problems are of concern to students, students are normally advised to seek help through appointments with professionals outside the College.
Where problems directly relate to courses students are encouraged to speak to the tutor concerned, or to the Centre or Course Co-ordinator, who will offer help, or suggest an alternative avenue of help.
Special Needs
The College Course Coordinator works with other College staff to ensure appropriate support is available for students with disabilities.
Students with disabilities are encouraged to contact the Coordinator.
The Coordinator can also provide information and advice to prospective students with disabilities.
To the best of its ability the Eastern Suburbs Community College shall continue to ensure mobility and accessibility for students to attend the course of their choice.
Financial Needs
Pensioners and persons registered as unemployed with Centrelink are entitled to pay $20 less that the advertised fee for any College course.
A pensioner’s Department of Social Security health care card number or proof of unemployment must accompany an application for a concession.
The College reserves the right to view original documents.
Feedback facilities
The Eastern Suburbs Community College encourages students to document their learning experiences in College courses through an evaluation form.
General facilities
The College shall endeavour to ensure that students are provided with sufficient and safe facilities to enable them to complete their courses effectively.
Safety
The Eastern Suburbs Community College recognises that students, have the right to study in a safe and secure environment.
This includes adequate fire safety in buildings, lighting on grounds and provision of clean drinking water.
Prior to commencement of thier course students should be provided with information on safety issues.
