Student Policy : Enrolled Students
Commitment to Quality Enrolled Students  
Students shall be deemed to be enrolled students at the Eastern Suburbs Community College on payment of all fees and charges due until they:
Complete the course; or
Withdraw from the course; or
Are excluded from the course.
Confirmation of enrolment
On payment of course fees a receipt will be issued to confirm the booking by mail within four working days or by email within 24 hours. A booking cannot be accepted without full payment of fees. It is each student’s responsibility to note the date, time and venue of the course.
Cancellation
The Eastern Suburbs Community College reserves the right to cancel a course or vary the time of he course if there are insufficient numbers enrolled. Only in the event of a cancellation of a course will a full refund be made. Refunds will not be granted to students who are unable to attend courses due to change in personal circumstances, work commitments or other reasons beyond our control.
Refunds
Course fees cannot be refunded to students who are unable to attend classes due to changes in personal circumstances, work commitments or other reasons beyond our control.
Transfers
Transfer requests received 6 working days before the commencement of a course will be considered and accommodated where possible. A $20 administration charge will apply to each transfer. Requests for transfers after this time will be declined, except in case of serious, verifiable illness.
Concessions
Pensioners and persons registered as unemployed with Centrelink are entitled to pay $20 less then the advertised fee. A pensioner’s Department of Social Security health care card number or proof of unemployment must accompany an application for a concession. The College reserves the right to view original documents.
Accredited and College Certificate courses
The Eastern Suburbs Community College offers a range of accredited and non-accredited courses.
Accredited courses A Statement of Attainment is will be awarded to students upon their successful achievement of the learning outcomes related to the accredited course.
College Certificate courses For courses designated ‘certificate course’ a College Certificate will be awarded to students who demonstrate a satisfactory understanding of their subject and attend a minimum of 75% of course sessions.
