Course fees cannot be refunded to students who are unable to attend classes for reasons beyond our control.

Cancellation
The College reserves the right to cancel a course or vary the time of a course if there are insufficient students enroled. Only in the event of a cancellation of a course can a refund be made. Refunds will not be granted to students who are unable to attend courses due to changes in personal circumstances, work commitments or other reasons beyond our control.
Transfer Requests
Transfer requests received 6 working days before the commencement of a course will be considered and accommodated where possible. A $20 administration charge will apply for each transfer. Requests for transfers after this time will be declined, except in the case of serious, verifiable illness. Notification must be received in writing (or email) within 6 working days. Once approved, a transfer is valid only for the subsequent term.
Participation
The minimum age for participation in our courses is 15 years. No upper age limit applies. Provision cannot be made for children to accompany students to classes.
GST
All courses grouped under the following headings meet Australian Taxation Office criteria for exemption from GST: Business, Computing, English and First Aid. Other courses are subject to GST, unless specified otherwise. All published prices are inclusive of GST where applicable.

All transactions are in Australian dollars.

Privacy
The Eastern Suburbs Community College will ensure that all personal information provided to us; particularly any name, address, telephone number and e-mail address; is confidential and will be used to facilitate College notifications to students and prospective students on matters relevant to course activity. This information will not be made available to any other party for any other purpose.
Concessions
Pensioners, Seniors Card holders and persons registered as unemployed with Centrelink are entitled to pay $20 less than the advertised fee. A Pensioner's Department of Social Security health care card number, a Seniors Card number or proof of unemployment must accompany an application for a concession. The college reserves the right to view original documents. Concession information For concession bookings by telephone the $3.00 telephone booking charge is waived.

Autumn 2010: Monday 3 May to Monday 28 June

Duration
Courses are of 8 weeks duration; unless otherwise stated. See individual course listing for details.
Certificate and Courses
For non-accredited Business, Computer and Communication courses designated 'certificate courses' College Certificates are awarded to students who meet the attainment criteria for their course. Students who satisfy learning outcome requirements and meet attendance criteria for accredited Computer, Keyboard Skills, Workplace Trainer or English courses are entitled to an accredited statement of attainment. A $12 charge will apply where a replacement certificate is requested. For courses completes more than 2 years ago a replacement certificate may not be available.
Disability
For wheelchair access please contact the College prior to the start of term so that suitable arrangements can be made. If you have any other special needs please call the College.
Additional Costs
For some classes; particularly Arts and Crafts, Food and Wine, Massage and Furniture Restoration; materials or food will need to be purchased. It is advisable in some classes to purchase a text book for reference, eg. Typing, Languages. Any costs will be outlined in the introductory session at the beginning of the term.
Responsibility
No responsibility can be accepted for property left on the premises or vehicles parked on College grounds.

Mutual Recognition of Qualifications
The College recognises the qualifications issued by other registered training organisations based in any State/Territory of Australia.
Recognition of Prior Learning
All students in accredited courses may seek to have prior learning recognised through a formal process that adhears to the requirements of the accrediting authorities. For further information contact the College on 9387 7400.
